We've got 3G covered!

About Easy3G

Easy3G is powered by the Vodafone's network and utilises 3G, HSDPA, 2.5G, GPRS and 2G GSM Technologies.

Our GSM (2G) network covers up to 94.52%* of the Australian population. Our GPRS (2.5G) network covers 92% of the places you live and work in Australia.

The Easy3G broadband network covers metropolitan areas in Sydney, Central Coast, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, Adelaide and Perth, plus all major international airports, and is constantly expanding.

Important: While the highest standards have been applied in preparing these maps, 100% mapping accuracy cannot be guaranteed. In addition, coverage information is based on outdoor analysis and may differ when indoors.

There may also be a number of factors beyond EasyMobiles' reasonable control that could cause coverage to vary within a stated area. For example, the age and type of handset, local weather conditions or areas of variable reception (e.g. basements, lifts, underground car parks, large concrete buildings, or road cuttings) may mean reception is unavailable or subject to interruption.

For any information regarding the Easy3G network coverage please contact 1300 02 EASY at any time.

About 3G

3G stands for 'third generation' and is a mobile content delivery standard that uses high-bandwith to deliver information over the airways.

With 3G you can access more content at higher speeds, up to a theoretical maximum of 3.6 MB per second.

3G allows you to not only make your standard calls, send SMS messages and MMS picture messages, but also send video MMS, make live video streaming calls, download ringtones and browse the web at blistering speeds.

As the bandwidth is higher, any data transferred across the network (including voice calls) is cheaper too.

While the 3G network is quite new, base stations and towers are being rollled out into new areas on a daily basis.

It's currently limited to the larger metropolitan areas but the benefit of our 3G technology is that its backwards-compatible, meaning that outside of this zone you can still access the 2.5/2G networks for standard phone calls, SMS and MMS.

About GSM

GSM is a great mobile phone network for customers in capital cities with excellent in-building coverage, metropolitan areas and for international travellers.

Mobile phone usage can sometimes be restricted or even impossible inside certain buildings, structures and some locations, notably within capital cities. Vodafone's GSM network has an extensive range of base stations inside many buildings and structures to help provide coverage within some of these difficult areas.

GSM network users can also take advantage of information and data services via GPRS. With a GPRS capable mobile phone you can access information services, the internet, send and receive emails, and more.

With extensive international roaming capability in more than 130 countries (including nearly 50 with GPRS), GSM is also a great choice for international travellers, helping to keep you in touch when travelling overseas.
